S2340M, Green Pixels in Upper Right Corner
The tag on the back of the monitor does not contain a service tag. But it seems a service tag is required in order to get any help from Dell. How is one suppose to log a case when there is no service tag??

The gray screen had burnt images into it. All the other colors looked OK as far as I could tell.

Run the test. Take a picture of the gray screen and post it.
