S2417DG, GTX 1080, can't get over 85Hz

I can see and click 144Hz and 165Hz but the screen goes blank instantly when I apply it. Using dual monitors other is Benq xl2411z 144Hz and works fine. I got DP to DP connected to Asus GTX 1080. Tried to uninstall graphics drivers and re-install via GeForce Experience. Installed drivers for monitor from Dell site. Enabled S2417DG overclock to 165Hz. Enabled/disabled G-Sync. Reset S2417DG to default settings. What can I do to get 144Hz out of this thing? Thank you.

* For my internal notes, click my name and private message me the S2417DG service tag number and 20 digit alphanumeric serial number

Using this hardware =
PC Asus GTX 1080 DP out port --> S2417DG DP to DP cable --> S2417DG DP in port

You should be able to do the following =
Resolution 2560x1440 DP Hz 60/85/100/120/144/150/155/160/165

* Turn the PC and both monitors off
* Disconnect the Benq monitor from the Asus GTX 1080
* Turn the PC and S2417DG on

Installation =
* Download/Save the latest Nvidia WHQL G-SYNC compatible driver to your Windows Desktop
* Right click the file and select "Run as administrator"
* Click OK
* Click Agree and Continue
* Click Custom (Advanced)
* Click Next
* Check the following =
Graphics Driver
3D Vision Controller Driver
3D Vision Driver
HD Audio Driver
PhysX System Software
Perform a clean installation
* Click Next
* When done, click Restart Now

Enable G-SYNC in the Nvidia Control Panel
* Open the Nvidia Control Panel
* Open Display
* Click Setup G-SYNC
* Check Enable G-SYNC
* Insert the dot to, "Enable G-SYNC for windowed and full screen mode"
* Click Apply
* Open 3D Settings
* Click Manage 3D Settings
* Click the Global Settings tab
* Open Monitor Technology
* Choose G-SYNC
* Click Apply
* Close the the Nvidia Control Panel

Enable G-SYNC in the S2417DG Menu OSD (On Screen Display)
* Press the Menu button to open the OSD
* Go to Others
* Choose Factory Reset
* Change to On. This reset the S2417DG to Factory Defaults
* Go up to Display
* Enable Overclock
* Go to Overclock Refresh Rate
* Set it to 165Hz
* Exit the Menu

* Was this purchased directly from Dell?
* Are there other full size DP out ports to test on the GTX 1080?
