SP1908Fp goes black, fixed!

I have a SP1908Fp monitor that was doing the same thing.  In fact, I've read where this is a common problem with Dell LCD monitors.  The problem grew worse over time.  I would power on the monitor, it would light up, then go black.  I would turn it off, then back on, it would light, then go black.  After a few times, it would stay on.  Eventually, however, it just wouldn't light.  The power was on, but the display didn't come on.

I discovered the problem was with a few capacitors on the display circuit board.  Now, this isn't for the faint of heart.  Only people with electronic component experience should do this.  However, when I opened up the monitor, there were 4 capacitors that had "bulged", a sign they are defective.  I simply replaced them with the same size/rated caps and it now works great!
