U2515H, Ubuntu, ddccontrol support?
Hello,
I use two U2515H monitors with consecutive serial numbers on Ubuntu 15.10. I ordered especially like that for color and brightness uniformness between the monitors. I would like to control the brightness of my monitors from my keyboard - without OSD. And for that, there is a tool called ddccontrol on Ubuntu. I know that monitors have a factory menu and has factory calibrations there. I definitely do not want to change those settings. Can I use ddccontrol on Ubuntu in a safe way, without the possibility to alter my factory settings?

Unknown. Dell never tested Ubuntu with the U2515H.

This is not an Ubuntu specific functionality. There are also several programs to drive DDC/CI functions of the monitor on Windows OS. Can someone confirm if these programs are read-only or can they change the factory settings?
