Ultrasharp 2711 Colors are not even - able to distinguish RGB subpixels

I recently purchased a 2711 screen and I am very disapointed with the colors that the screen produces.

When you have white surfaces you can distinguish the red - green - blue sub pixels it is not an even white like on my dell or mac laptop.  Also the picture looks very grainy compared to my previous Samsung monitor or other Mac, like there is a layer on top of the screen that moves when you turn your head and creates some sort of moire. Is this maybe the Ultra sharp ifso this is really not added value.

I am currently using it through displayport on an ATI 5870 but the same issue occurs when I connect it to my dell laptop through a docking station and a DVI cable.  It looks like the 'menu popup''does not have the issue.. The menu letters and the icon are a nice bright white. Is this a know issue with these monitors or is there a setting I need to change on the PC ( I tried all on the monitor)

Compared to my dell laptop monitor or a mac 30 inch this is a disapointment and not usable for photo editing.  Even web browing becomes less enjoyable.

Post a picture of the issue here. Test straight DVI to DVI.

Sorry for the late reply but I was out for a long holiday

There are multiple users that complain about this. It seems to be related to the coating that is not ok. I have seen an 2711 that looked greated. But mine has the same interference that a lot of people report.

If I translate this ( I left out the part where he sais the U2711 has the same issue as the U2410)

The dell U2410 had an annoying coating on the LCD Pannel. Like a sandwich bag you needed to look through.

It looks like the mask of the coating just doesn't fit pixelsize of the LCD. It gives a strange and inteferering picture. It looks like the coating works on a per pixel level as net you look through and gives coloration and distortion.

Please see the side by side comparision. The white on the U2711 can not even match up to the D630. Let alone a Mac to which it is supposed to compete with.
