What graphics card will work with my Dell U2711 at 2560x1440?
I just purchased a Dell U2711 monitor that I would like to use with Photoshop at its native 2560x1440 resolution. I also have a Dell E2311H to use with it in a dual monitor setup.
The monitors are connected to an AMD-powered Gigabyte MA785GM motherboard with an ATi Radeon 4200 on-board video chipset with both DVI-D and regular 15-pin video outputs.
However, the 4200 chipset doesn't seem to support the Dell's 2560x1440 resolution as all I get are fuzzy color-tinted characters. The ClearType Text Tuner just gives me fuzzy garbage.
I am using the Dual-link cable that comes with the Dell U2711.
What inexpensive graphic cards will work for me with this hardware arrangement?
Refresh rate is not important. I'm not a gamer.

This video card has both DVI and DP and will do 2560x1440 60Hz.

* What slots are on the motherboard for a video card? Link to manual?
* What wattage power supply is in the computer?

Video slot is PCI-E x16 2.0
Manual is here > www.gigabyte.us/.../product-page.aspx;dl=1&RWD=0#manual
Go to bottom of list of manuals for English version. Ignore the first English listing at top of list which is a quick install guide.
PS is 500W

Thanks for getting me pointed in the right direction.
After a bit of research, I settled on a ZOTAC GeForce GT 730 from Newegg for the same price, with four times the memory plus it will do 2560x1440 at 120Hz.
Again, thanks for your help.
