How can restore backup on another host?
Hi all.
How can I restore the backup on another host, I do not mean from which the backup was made, namely, to another host. What do I need?
is it possible?

Hi Alex,
For File level restore yes, you can initiate the backup from the machine where you want to place the original backup and, if the permissions are configured correctly you should have no problem at all, either using NW GUI or command prompt.
For Oracle/SAP restores the procedure is documented in Pg 59 of NMSAP 3.5 of the NM SAP Admin guide

Also take a look at this other KB:

Thank you.
Carlos.

Hello Alex,
First you need to ensure to configure permissions correctly as per:
https://community.emc.com/thread/132035?tstart=30
Then depends what you want to restore. If it's just a file, first of all bear in mind that cross platform restore is not supported, in other words you cannot restore a windows fine on a Linux box.
Then, if connectivity and permissions are ok, the source locally.
You can do it either using NetWorker client GUI or command prompt.
Let me know if you need any further clarification.
Thank you.
Carlos.

First I want to restore the backup of someone else's file to another host, the operating system LInux here and there. Then I want to restore backups Module for SAP with Oracle. I need to do to have a client and a module on another host. Well, I do not know how this is done, because the media pool already is labeling, the other host knows where to take him to restore the backup?
