Is it still recommended to install Networker9 server in a physical machine

Hi Networker experts,

I have the choice between installing Netwoker 9 server in a physical machine or in a virtual machine (Hyper-V hypervisor).

The backup media will be DataDomain DDBoost Storage Unit (no Tape neither VTL to be attached).

I know that in case of Tape/VTL use, it is recommended to use a physical machine, but here it is not the case.

So what do you recommend here ?

Many thanks

Well it depends on the workload and requirements. Even if you have tape backup requirement you can use the NetWorker server on a VM and have a Physical Storage Node for tapeout. For your scenario VM would be an Ideal option, just get the VM resources sized appropriately from EMC.

I've been using it as VM for last 3 years and I'm very happy.
