Need help to limit the Bandwidth for replication
Hello All
I have a challenge while customer has CCR from Site A to B & vice versa. The Customer have a network link between the Data Centers A & B which is 10 MBPS variable, and if the bandwidth cross 10MBPS then he has to pay extra to ISP. In previous days the bandwidth utilization never exceeded 3 to 4 MBPS in general but after the seeding started from Primary DD to Secondary DD and vice versa the scenario is totally changed. Now the Bandwidth utilization is touching 50 MBPS continuously.
The Question is how can we limit the bandwidth usage from both side so the usage can be within a particular range. The environment
details are as below
Type |
Site A |
Site B |
Backup Server |
NetWorker Server A |
NetWorker Server B |
Backup Destination |
DDBoost A |
DDBoost B |
Replication |
DDBoost A Devices will be |
DDBoost B Devices will be |
Replication Mode |
Using CCR |
Using CCR |
Bandwidth Max |
Max available is 10 MBPs |
Max available is 10 MBPs |
Tried to setup the below settings in both the data domain but no performance change noticed. Please suggest

Please consider moving this question as-is (no need to recreate) to the proper forum for maximum visibility. Questions written to the users' own "Discussions" space don't get the same amount of attention and questions can go unanswered for a long time.
You can do so by selecting "Move" under ACTIONS along the upper-right of this post. Then search for and select the application which this post refers to.

It would be more correct Data Domain than NW since CCR is ddboost at DD level. In NW you can't throttle it and on DD level there is nothing to throttle it either (check ddboost command on DD). At least not in DDOS 5.4 - not sure about 5.5 and 5.6. Given that you are EMC guy, try to reach to DD folks and see if they have plan to include ddboost replication throttling as well.
