Networker - some savesets not visible when browsing in GUI for recovery

Product:
Networker 7.6.2 on Windows 2008 R1 Server
Networker Module for  SAP (lgtonmsap-4.1-1)
Networker Client (lgtoclnt-7.6.2.1-1)

Problem  description:

We have backed up Sap/Oracle database. We have konfigured  and run:
-         first backup = full backup of database (online mode ) +  backup of
archive logs with delete option (this have copied and deleted  archive log
files numbered up to 708)
-         second backup = next day  full backup of archive logs with delete
option (this copied log files 709 to  900 and deleted them)
Both retention and browse time are set for 14  days,

From perspective of SAP system, it all looks good - Archived Log  files are
being deleted from directory after they are backed up.
But when  we try to restore using Networker User, we cannot see all the
Archive Logs  files that were deleted. Browsing the archive log directory in
recover  window we can only see log files up to 177 and 808-900.
After changing Browse  time to 12:20 AM (right before second backup) - the
files copied during  first backup appear.
To be able to see and recover log files from second  backup - I need to
change "Browse time" minute by minute across period that  second backup
lasted - each time I can see different subset of backed up log  files. Is
this correct functionality?
Still, some of these are not  visible, no matter what browse time I set. This
is not matter of wrong  browse time for these backup sets (I've checked
savesets retention times  with mminfo -vV -o e  -c client volume). Looks like
possible problem with  index base, I've tried nsrck -L 6, but no result.
With a bit effort I can  recover these missing log files, basing on save date
(obtained with nsrinfo  -vV -N missing_file_name client) and searching for
correspondind ssid  (mminfo -vV -o e  -c client volume), then invoking at
client system:  "recover -d /tmp/recover/ -S ssid -s server". So I'm sure
these log files  are available and recoverable, but what is the reason I
cannot see them  throug Networker User GUI?

Hi Bartuus,

Restoring NMSAP backups through winworkr is not supported.  It might work- but you should use BRTools to perform the restores.

Also, I think what you are seeing in the GUI is expected behavior. Since the files are deleted after the backup (t1), they don’t exist during the next backup (t2). During a restore, winworkr shows the state of the system at a specific browse time. So if the browse time is set to t2 or higher, the files deleted as part of bkup t1 will not show up.  Does that help?

SAP backups are done using BRTools.  This means restore should be done via brrestore.  You can use ssid restore if ssNameFormat set to old, but you would use that in specific cases only.  The whole idea of online modules is that it integrates with application/database it backs up via given API and application/database backup framework is used for both backup and restore.
