Restore fails one way, works another way when using

When restore a critical file a -c /XXX/YY does NOT show any data..

>restore -c   /XXX/YY

AIX

but when lauching the RESTORE with -s the restorer goes fine and shows data

>restore -c -s

AIX

LINUX is the server

Does it need a slash after the closeing YY"/"

Any help

The problem is, the people doing the restore may not have the    and the /xxx/yy   may be different.

And if you try restore without -a by browsing?  Do you see it then?  If not, my guess is that your data is saved under wrong index.

GUI is irrelevant... if you try restore by browsing from CLI (without -a), do you see the file?  Also, I assume you are running command from the machine on which you wish to restore to and that happens to be data owner too (originally backed up machine)?
