Can someone reinforce my thought on setting up LAG

I have a 2748 and a 2848 PowerConnect switch.  I want to "stack" them via LAG.

In reality all I need to do is setup the 2-4 ports I want to use on either switch, tag them as being part of same group and bam, just like that....LAG is created.  Correct? 

I was also thinking of STP...because they are a part of a LAG, do I still need to set this as well to prevent loops or does LAG do this?
