ONIE Support for Dell Networking N1100-ON Series?

I have a Dell Networking N1148T-ON switch which apparently supports ONIE. However, i've not been able to find any ONIE OS images that support the switch itself - either from Dell and other Switch OS vendors/open source projects. The only ONIE downloads for the N1100-ON series on Dell's support site seem to be the ONIE firmware itself rather than an ONIE OS (and indeed, the firmware has no installation instructions!).

Are there any compatible ONIE Operating Systems for the N1100-ON series? I'd love to make use of a lot of the API functionality that ONIE switch OSes tend to offer!

I'd love to get an answer to this as well. Dell Tech support on the phone wasn't overly helpful in getting an answer on this either.

Thanks for the documentation link Daniel, it's useful.

Although Dell offers DNOS6 for the N1100 series, that seems to be the only OS compatbiel with the switch - both based on Dell's offerings and other vendor/open source offerings. For exmple, OpenSwitch, OpenNetLinux and SONiC only support a selection of Dell S and Z series switches - no support listed for any N switches.

It seems like although the switch is compatible with ONIE OSes, no ONIE OSes are compatible with it?

I am looking to see if this situation has changed. I have an N1108T-ON. Are there any technical resources available to guide me on installing an alternative OS on this system. Is there a machine definition file available for this platform? It does not appear to be in the standard location $ONIE_ROOT/machine/ / _

the link does not work.

@KJKingJ

I did find the blogpost “Teaching a cheap ethernet switch new tricks” informative however.   He hacks the Dell n1108T-on.
