Can only get local connection
I have re-installed the operating system (vista) on my Dell Inspiron 6400 and now I can only get a local connection when trying to access the internet. Any ideas.

Hi RupsFM,
Welcome to the community,
This is might be issue with the drivers as you have the re-installed windows vista on the computer
I wanted to check of you are only able to connect to internet with an Ethernet. Also you can check in device manager for the availability for the wireless card which would sometime say network controller you would need to install the drivers for wireless card so that you can work with wirelessly and I am attaching a link through which you can download all the wireless drivers.

Did you install the Chipset drivers and the Notebook System Software--it's listed on your download page under system utilties-- first before the other drivers? If you didn't, download the drivers from dell drivers page and install them in the correct order.
