D620 Laptop wireless connection fails

I've seen this problem discussed before, but now I have a D620 and I can't get a wireless connection to the internet.  It works fine at a motel, but won't connect to my home modem.  I've tried to have windows repair it, but no.  Ubee modem, not sure what model.  It's a refurbished machine.  I like it fine and the eternet works just dandy.  Where to go next.  I know there's a ton of solutions out there, I'm open to any and all.  Thanks!
