Inspirion 1525 Network Adapter Driver
My network device tree now shows three (actually two) drivers not working, as follows:
Tuerdo Tunneling Pseudo-Interface Driver
and, ISATAP Driver
It is my understanding that these are used to send IPV4 encapsulated IPV6 packets across intranet, and that I need to update the network card drivers to fix the issue. I am not sure if the drivers shown on the Dell site will fix this issue.
Need help in determining what update driver to use, or if even Dell has a new driver to fix this issue. Or, do I need a new network card?
Thanks for any help anyone can provide.

HBolinger,
Did you recently install/reinstall the operating system?
Those items usually get installed when you install the wirelessa dapter.
Can you run Finding System Information (preferred) REMOVE YOUR PRODUCT ID, if using XP, run an ipconfig /all log and post it back here.

I had a Trojan infect my computer and had it removed. Some of the software was messed up and I had to have a Microsoft Tech get it back operating correctly. The tech removed a number of programs and made a number of other changes during the process. I suppose it is possible that the wireless adapter somehow got messed up during the tech work? I found the adapter problems when looking at the system information after the tech completed his work.

HBolinger,
Do you have the Vista operating sytem disk?
My honest opinion, do you have all the files and folders that you need copied to disks or a flash/external hard drive?

I may have inadvertently send a message that was incomplete.
I do have the Vista and Driver and Utilities Disks that Dell recently sent me. I also downloaded and installed a dell recommended wireless adapter update. I checked the adapter list following the install, and nothing has changed. The same issues previously noted still are present. I have used the Windows backup utility and backed up files to an attached hard drive.

HBolinger,
We could try different hings, but since you have all the files and folders you need, I would first run Belarc Advisor to get your product keys, then I would
Restoring Your Computer´s Software to the Factory Settings
The manual methos is How To Restore or Reinstall Microsoft® Windows® on a Dell™ Computer
The time to restore would be the quicker route.

Before I try this, I have one more question. I noted that when I open each of the adapters and click on the Advanced Tab, a property of "Network Address" does not have a value associated with it. Should there be a network address, and if so, what would be the address. The address of the router, or the WIFI adapter.
Do you think if a network address were provided it would solve the issues I am having?
If not, then I guess uninstalling the drivers is my last resort, and then trying to reinstall, or reinstall the operating system.

Herb,
If your router is using these Recommended Wireless Router Settings I use channel 11, then if you go to...
Start, control panel, network and sharing center, click on your connection, then click on properties. Look for TCP/IPv4 and TCP/IPv6 and click on properties for each. Have your settings match mine.

HBolinger,
Start, control panel, device manager, network, double click on Dell Wireless 1395 WLAN Mini-Card, advanced. Look for antenna diversity. Cahneg it from auto to aux.
Then click on the power management tab. Uncheck the box, allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.
Start, all rpograms, accesssories, right click on command prompt, left click run as administrator. Type
ipconfig /flushdns (space between the g and /)
Restart your computer.
What happens?
