Internet Connection Problems

My laptop, inspiron 1420, windows 7 32 bit (I upgraded about during mid december), has been recently having some connections issues. When i am sitting by the router (Right next to it, i could use the ethernet cable, but who likes blue wires?) , i get about 1 bar. The other laptops/desktop in the house have perfectly fine connection (4-5 bars). Two days ago i had good connection from my laptop; 4-5 bars from anywhere in the house, but a sudden drop in connection occurred yesterday. My laptop could not pick up signals from the router or pick up any signals  from my neighbors (Not that i steal their internet). But now i cannot connect to anything. Is this a problem with the internet card that is built in?

Modem: moto sbv5222

Router: belkin n+ wireless router

Laptop: inspiron 1420

Browser: Chrome 4 and firefox 3.6beta

all specs on the laptop are standard (graphics, internet, audio etc.)
