Wifi disconnect again and again

Disconnecting from wi-fi very often - Inspiron 15R 5520

Sometimes it disconnects automatically and again if I try to reconnect it won't connect. After many hours it connects automatically. This problem is appearing since when I updated from windows 8 to windows 8.1.

Hi,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

In most cases, this problem is caused by local environmental factors that affect the wireless signal.

You can try following steps.

  1. The farther away the computer is from the router, the weaker the wireless signal will be. Try moving closer to the router to see if the connection improves.
  2. Move Wi-Fi devices away from other transmitting devices [Such as Cordless phones, baby monitors, Bluetooth devices such as speakers or mouse]. Neighboring wireless networks can also sometimes create interference.
  3. If the issue still persists then you could try changing wireless Channel number to either 1, 6 or 11 by logging into routers administrative interface.

Hope this helps.
