Wifi problem xps 13 9360

I have noticed many people on this forum have had the same wifi problems as me in regards to this model laptop.

My wifi works perfectly fine when plugged in charging, however, strangely enough it does not work it is unplugged and not charging with the AC adapter. This must be some kind of power setting but have searched and been on the phone with tech support for hours and have not solved the problem.

Apparently the only way to fix this is to get tech support to send you a new intel wireless card to replace the stock "killer wifi" card.

Has anyone been able to solve this problem yet? There is clearly a problem with these wifi cards and it is outrageous so many people are having this problem. Shipping my laptop to dell and having to wait for them to install a new card then ship it back seems like a 1month + long process.
