Cannot post in Desktops General?

Hey, I am new to the forums and had a question. I found a solution to a driver compatibility issue. I have tried to post it in desktops general but it is read only? Well when googled the first 2 hits are dell community forum links that say there is no solution other than to buy a new video card when you can easily run the driver setup file in windows xp compatibility mode. Is that forum topic closed to new posts?
