(Redirected) Poor Performance with New Dell Inspiron 5000 Series

My new Dell Inspiron15 5000 series (16 days old) is slower than my old Inspiron Laptop. I contacted Dell Support but was told I would have to pay a fee for software issues. The 1 year warranty only cover hardware issues. I am very disappointed. 

The only software that I added is Microsoft Office 2010 and an HP Printer.

Can someone please tell me if there is a way to make my Laptop perform better without paying or should I return it to Dell and purchase a different type PC?
