Dell OptiPlex 7071 No Bootable Devices Found
All - I have an OptiPlex 7071 desktop that I'm running Windows 10 Pro. Computer is 2 years old. Before shutting down last night, I ran the Dell Update app. It found one update (wasn't BIOS). It ran the update and I shut the computer down. This morning, I turned on the computer and immediately received the "No bootable devices found" message. I've run through all the "YouTube" help videos, etc. with no help. I've run the diagnostics and everything passed. I'm completeley dumbfounded. I'm not an expert but it seems to have lost its boot path. I'm desperate for some guidance here.....

Make sure BIOS is still set to AHCI. If you go into Boot Sequence in BIOS, besides your boot drive, you should see Windows Boot Manager.

How to Perform a BIOS or CMOS Reset and Clear the NVRAM on Dell Computers Usually we recommend a new battery when doing this, but your system is new. If your MB doesn't have RTCRST as mentioned in the instructions (scroll down), then it should have CMCLR.
If that doesn't work, then you might need to pursue as in warranty issue, especially since a Dell update messed it up.

Thanks so much for your reply. BIOS is still set to AHCI but Windows Boot Manager has disappeared???? I’m pretty sure whatever update I ran jacked up the BIOS or did something to the boot section. I have no idea what to do next….

Lucky number the 13th. : )> I forgot you mentioned having the system 2 years. In which case, I'd either test or replace the 3v size 2032 battery. It's not too unusual for generic batteries to only last 2 years vs. around 5 for the name brands.
