You can try it but the KVR memory almost always shows up as a problem on this forum.  I've also seen posts on other computer forums of KVR memory problems too.  Hit or (mostly) miss.

If you are upgrading (or replacing) only use one brand/type memory.  Mixing memory in many cases results in problems and this is not just a Dell problem. I have a home built desktop using an ASUS gamer motherboard and have some Corsair and GSkill memory - both the same specs.  Either will work in this PC but together I get a memory error and it won't boot.

Dell's have a history of memory compatibility with non-Dell branded memory.  For this reason most of the techies on here suggest Crucial as it is guaranteed to work in a Dell.    I'd link you to the Crucial memory for this model but at this moment the Crucial site is down.

Try it, but as I mentioned using KVR memory is iffy.  If it works you are lucky.

Kingston Value Ram usually has issues because the VALUE comes from High Density parts.

Slots: 2 (2 banks of 1)
Maximum Memory: 32GB

https://www.crucial.com/usa/en/optiplex-3070-micro/CT15136677

LOW Density DDR4 PC4-21300 • CL=19 • SINGLE RANKED • X8 BASED • UNBUFFERED • NON-ECC • DDR4-2666 • 1.2V • 2048 MEG X 64 •

HIGH Density and QUAD RANKED RAM is NOT supported.

The memory being discussed is 1RX8

Here's the data sheet:

Since the memory is on hand, I second the idea to give it a try. I have seen several posts where folks got this KVR memory to work.

@speedstepHow can one tell exactly what the "density" is? Could you please look at the data sheet and then let us ALL know?
