So thank you all. Yes indeed the correct solution to this specific problem is to contact support and they verify ownership requiring photograph with machine/tag/service number along with additional dated material.

once connected to support, process took 30 minutes.,

grateful for the lessons,

thank you

Hello @bleph , I afraid that you will have to contact Dell Technical Support to reset/remove BIOS password.

Hi,

The service manual does recommend contacting Dell tech support, as @Chino de Oro says here. I know you removed the CMOS battery, but perhaps the extra steps provided by Dell in this article will work ("How to clear the BIOS, CMOS, or NVRAM by reseating the CMOS battery").

I agree with the posts of @Chino de Oro and @NJDave . But you might try the suggestions on this page at top password's site. Also this YouTube video is a bit shaky and hard to follow at times but it also may offer some help.

Hello OP, I'd definitely contact Dell Technical Support for a 3 month old machine with Pro support.  Also, you might want to direct message MOD and requesting to edit your post title (Mod will understand).

Access the private message function by clicking the envelope icon, top right of the page next to your avatar. (I can't seem to get there from the mobile version of the site.) Once there, click the blue pencil-and-paper icon next to Inbox. Search for username DELL-Cares to contact the moderator.

Hello @bleph , if you noticed, you see that you get notification regarding this thread through email.  The reason being when using @ sign with a member screen name, that person would receive the notification.  That's how to get someone attention.  For private content that you don't want in open public, use the envelop on top right corner.
