Upgrade to 1909 COM1 driver problem

Hi all

after inplace upgrade from 1803 to 1909 we have problem on Dell 3050 with COM driver.

Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware because a previous instance of the device driver is still in memory. (Code 38)

The driver could not be loaded because a previous version of the driver is still in memory.

In the Device Manager, click to "show hidden devices" (Under View) and see if another instance of this shows up.  If it does, uninstall all instances then restart.  See if this gets it going.

This may not help, but I would check to make sure "fast startup" is unchecked. This option saves a lot of stuff to disk and loads it at next startup to save time, sort of like hibernation. That may be why you have the previous driver in memory.

Go to control panel/power options. click "choose what the power buttons do".

Near the top, click "change settings that are currently unavailable".  Make sure "turn on fast startup" (below) is unchecked. Then click save changes and OK your way out.

Now uninstall the port (all instances) in device manager, reboot, and let windows find and install the correct driver.

That com port is part of the INTEL AMT HECI SOL Drivers.

All of the Chipset Drivers must be installed.

Including INTEL CHIPSET,  AMT, SOL, HECI etc.

Intel® B250 Chipset drivers are missing.
