What model PC? Always include that with any initial post.
More questions than answers. How are the mouse and keyboard connected? Wired or Wireless? Do the devices work in Windows or not at all? If not at all have you tried different USB ports and test them on another PC to see if they work.
One thing to do, reset the BIOS. With the PC powered off, open the case and remove the CR2032 coin cell battery located on the motherboard for at least 10 minutes. Reinstall the battery, observing polarity. Close the case and power on, see if the devices work now.
