Can not create new RAID

Poweredge R710 Perc 6/i

added 4 new drives, show up in OMSA just fine, can not create RAID, won't allow me to select RAID level in step one of the wizard.  Try to follow advice of another post and Clear the drives, now the drives are in State: Clear and the wizard will not launch at all as it said there is no space.

Is there any way to fix this mess without shutting down the server and it's children and spending hours in the BIOS letting the RAID build?  I've done this before with no issue, no clue why this one is being difficult.
