Dell PowerEdge R410

Hello, i want to buy a R410 with a perc 6/i controler and i want to make 2 Virtual Disk, one will be a 146 Gb RAID 1 (2 x 146Gb Hdd SAS) and the second i want to be a 2Tb RAID 1 (2x2Tb Sata HDD), is that possible on the perc 6/i controller?

Mlmpm,

The Perc 6/i will be able to handle that just fine. Now just a side note, the Perc 6/i does support VIRTUAL DISKS that exceed 2TB, but the controller does have a limitation of 2TB for the PHYSICAL DISKS. Meaning you can have a 4TB virtual disk (for example 3 2TB drives in a Raid 5), but you couldn't have a 3 or 4 TB physical disk in the system, it is limited to a max of 2TB.

With the configuration you presented that isn't an issue, just letting you know for the future, if needed.

You can also check out some of the other features of the controller here.

Hope this helps to clarify things for you.
