Dell PowerEdge R610 disk showing offline / degraded
Hello,
we have a dell R610 server with 2 physical disk for OS configured as RAID 1 , Recently one of the disk failed and we replaced it with a new one
After the replacement the disk is showing Offline in OSMA >> Storage >>Physical disks AND
Showing degraded in OSMA >>Storage >>Virtual Disk state
Why did it not auto-build after the replacement ? what needed to be done to built this manually
please any help would be appreciated

Hello,
Certain virtual disk errors can prevent rebuilds, we'd really need to collect more information to try to answer that question. A PERC log would likely be able to show if there are underlying issues that prevented the rebuild.
As for triggering a manual rebuild, marking the new drive as a hot spare in OpenManage is the easiest thing to do, as the controller will automate all the replacement. You can also perform a "Replace Member Disk' operation to set it up manually.
