Dell PowerEdge R710 SAS 6/IR FIRMWARE ISSUE
Hello I noticed today through my open-manage server that the Firmware driver for my SAS 6/IR integrated is out of date.
Also one of the two hard drives is flashing orange but in open-manage it shows the drive status as good.
Is it the firmware that is causing the issue or is the drive really defective.
Also how do i find out what the current firmware is, where and how do I install. Currently running windows server 2003 enterprise. see pics below.

Hello
The storport driver is not the controller firmware. The storport driver is a Windows storage management driver. I suggest searching Microsoft's site to locate the storport driver for your operating system.
You should be able to expand the drive properties to get more detailed information. You can also review the hardware log for any errors related to the drives. The storport driver being out of date should not cause the drive LEDs to flash, but it may cause other issues that could lead to the LEDs flashing.
