How to enable write cache on disc behind SAS 6 IR ?
Hello,
on our laptop computer, enabling the option "Enable write cache on the device" under windows device manager make the write of random small block very fast. but on our SAS 6 IR poweredge 2950 it's change nothing.
Is their any way to enable the write cache on the controller (if the controller have at least some memory for that, not sure SAS 6 IR have it) or at least enabling the disk cache on the hard drive himself ?
thanks by advance

No cache memory on a SAS 6/ir. The setting in device MGR is suppoed to turn on the drive cache itself though.

There have been complaints lately about this very issue. It seems it used to work.
