PowerEdge R620 Possible to RAID 1?

Hi, my current PowerEdge R620 is configured with only one 100GB SSD to run VMWare.  Then it's connect to an Equalogic SAN.  I want to add redundancy in case HD0 fail.  Is it possible to add another 100GB SSD and configure both drives to RAID 1 without wiping out any current data on the SSD?  Also, rather than adding another SSD, is it possible to add a 128GB SD card to create the RAID 1 with the current SSD?  Thank you in advance for any advise.

Kfleung,

You should be able to do a Raid Level Migration on the drive to convert it to a Raid 1, this is without losing data. Yet I would still highly suggest getting a backup before attempting though. Once backed up and you are ready just add the drive to the system (rescan if not seen) then go to the Virtual Disks and select  Reconfigure from the menu. That will mirror the single disk to the second, creating a Raid 1. You can read more about migrations here.

Let me know if this helps.
