Poweredge R730 direct connect to Storage MD1200

Hi everyone,

we have a Poweredge R730 and a MD1200 Storage.

Our idea is to extend the storage of the server to directly connect the controllers of the MD1200 with the Poweredge.

Is this possible, do you know if we need a special SCSI controller.

the MD1200 controllers have miniSAS ports

White_Ninja,

There isn't a supported way of connecting the MD1200 to the internal controller in the R730. As seen here, these are the only support controllers for the enclosure.  Now if I misunderstood your question, and you are just trying to connect an MD1200 to an R730, you would be able to do so with the H800 or H810, as seen on the link I provided.

Let me know if this helps.

@DELL-Chris H: Yeah I just want to connect the MD1200 to the R730 to make use of the Storage. I ll look for the H800 and H810, do I need any special cables?
