RAID PERC 4 Controller Replacement
Greetings all,
Had a RAID Controller fail on a Poweredge 2850, replaced it with an exact replacement, and now need the steps to configure the card. In the RAID Bios, I have the options to
Configure -
Initialize - in here I see my 2 logical drives that are offline
Objects
Clear
Rebuild
Check Consistency
Reconstruct
Any ideas how to proceed? Thanks in advance

You need to boot to CTRL-M, Configure, View/Add ... choose Disk View, then save on exit.

Under the Objects --> Logical Drives, I see my 2 logical drive 0 and 1
The View/Add Page shows 2 columns - 1st column has the 4 hard drives 0, 1,2,3 and the proc.

Hi Flash,
I'm not getting a choice of anything on that next page, just the 2 columns of drives and that options menu i posted earlier, no NVRAM or Disk View on this page.

From the Main menu, select Configure, and then View/Add from the next/sub menu:

Then you have already either cleared or imported the configuration. What does the View/Add page look like (status, ID's, etc.)? If you go to Objects, Logical Drives, what is shown there?

What the View/Add option is doing is giving you the choice which configuration you want to use. If you choose NVRAM, it will show you the controller's configuration (since you replaced it, the controller's configuration is not what you want); if you choose Disk View, it will show you the configuration stored on the disks. When you exit View/Add after having chosen a configuration, it will ask you if you want to save that configuration. Choose Disk View, then save on exit.
