VD has bad blocks

I have PE 320 with perc h710 adapter. we replaced one drive that state showed foreign. the new drive was ordered from dell, the firmware and driver for the adapter were updated to the latest version. we replaced the drive and rebuild operation started. now the vd displays Virtual Disk has bad blocks. do i need to wait until completing rebuild? also the rebuild progress in no longer displayed.

Thank you

I have a dell PE T320 server RAID5 with perc 710 Controller, one of the hard drive was in foreign state, we ordered replacement hard drive   from dell. replaced the drive and rebuilding operation started. upon viewing the open mange there was a message on virtual disk that the "virtual disk has bad blocks" rebuilding is currently at 1%. I updated the controller firmware and driver prior to replacing the drive

Thank you  in advance for your help

You should not update the firmware while in a degraded state.

This array corruption is why RAID 5 should not be used. You can try a Consistency Check if the rebuild finishes.

Foreign does not necessarily mean the drive is bad.
