What is default Raid level for Poweredge 840 with SAS5/IR controller?
I have a new client with a Poweredge 840 that will not boot due to failure of GU186 raid controller (SAS5 / IR).
Nobody seems to know if it was set up with RAID level 0 or level 1. My assumption is that it is running as originally shipped.
My thought would be to bypass the card if it is RAID 1, but I am reluctant to try if the drives are striped.
Can anyone shed some light on this for me. Thanks.

If the system can post, when it gets to the sas card there should be a prompt of ctrl-c tto enter the bios. Here you can loook around to check the raid level. My best guess with 2x disks, it will be raid 1.
