r740xd /w perc h740P Non-raid
Hello,
I have a rack of 740xd servers with 2x ssd in raid1 for OS and i want to add 22x hhd SAS with non-raid config on each. I've try on idrac, on section config/storage then physical config and i can't switch my disk on "non-raid".
Each time i've try, i have an STOR058 error.
I've try on lifecycle controler to, but i can't find any solution on it anyway and i can't find anything in the perc h740P mini doc relative to this kind of actions.
Does anybody have any ideas please ?

Hi,
The H740P does not have the feature to configure a non-raid HDD. It will only support RAID configurations. There are a couple of options available. One is to create a 1 drive RAID 0 on the H740P. A second option is to use the H730P which is compatible with the R740XD and does support the non-RAID HDDs feature.

Hey... Are there any plans to add passthrough/non raid capabilities to the H740's? A have new servers and did not consider that passthrough would be missing.

Dell,
Is there any update on this? We just purchased a R740XD and we were told there would be such an option. I turned on the box and saw the issue. I hope that there is an option for this or we are going to have to work on a return and I don't want to do that on a 15k box.

We have a R640 with H740P mini controller,
and I get STOR058 on creating Non-RAID disk, too.
It worked on our old T610 and Perc 6/i ...
Why are they removing features, please make this work again

I am locking this thread.
The Enhanced HBA Mode feature was added to the H740P with firmware update 50.5.0-1750.
After installing the firmware update you will have options for non-RAID, but you will get errors if you try to put a drive into non-RAID if the controller is not in Enhanced HBA Mode. Enhanced HBA Mode does not support all of the RAID levels that RAID Mode supports, so you may need to delete virtual disks to switch the controller to Enhanced HBA Mode.
