Issues mounting my Dell Poweredge 2950 Gen iii
Good Afternoon,
We have a 4 post threaded circular hole rack as our primary rack. recently we received a donation of 2 Dell Poweredge 2950 gen iii. We came to find that the rails we had purchased for the server only support a squared holed rack. I have been surfing around for hours trying to find an adapter that would rectify this problem but i am coming up blank.
Does anyone here know if Dell or anyone else makes an adapter that would resolve this issue?
Cheers,

Check to see if you can flip the ends of the rails. If they are Dell branded rails then they should work with square or round holes. Check out the link here http://www.velocitytechsolutions.com/dell-tc837-poweredge-2950-rapid-versa-rail-kit/

Dudebot12,
It sounds like you ordered the Rapid Rails, which have the square mounts. What you will need is the Versa Rails. They have circular mounts as you stated you need. I am not seeing the 2950 version available though. So it may be necessary to go third party for them.
Can you confirm the rails you ordered were the Rapid Rails? Part #?

It is in the servers manual located here, page 12 and 13 - http://ftp.dell.com/Manuals/all-products/esuprt_ser_stor_net/esuprt_poweredge/poweredge-2950_user%27s%20guide2_en-us.pdf

Velech is correct, that model should be able to flip to accommodate both round and squared.

Yes they do in fact, they have squared mounts on one side and then threaded round holes on the other. Any idea where i might find the rack mount instructions for this particular type of rack. I have also failed to find those.
