PE T105
Has anybody ever encountered issues where the T105 BIOS is corrupt, and the virtualisation options no longer show to the OS preventing the install of Hyper V?

Has anybody ever encountered issues where the T105 BIOS is corrupt, and the virtualisation options no longer show to the OS preventing the install of Hyper V?

Hi,
Have you tried to flash the BIOS again? Were you able to get it working?

Yes I flashed the BIOS, both as the most up to date version (1.4.4 I think) and I also tried downgrading the BIOS to a pevious version, but with no luck.
I have 2 opterons I've tried, a 1352 and a 1354, both of which are supposed to support virtualisation, and neither of which report the virtualisation extensions via OpenManage or CPU-Z.
I had HYPER-V installed and working, and removed as I was having some issues, and now it refuses to reinstall despite working since 2008!!

In the bios does it even show an option for cpu virtualization under the cpu settings?

No Josh, it doesn't. I can't recall if it ever did though, but I do know that Opterons support virtualisation, and that Hyper-V had been running for 8 years prior to this, and now I can't reinstall it.
If I run CPU-Z it shows the virtualisation instructions as missing both from the 1352 and the 1354.

At this point I think you may need to replace the system board since multiple processors that support virtualization and flashing the BIOS did not resolve it and the line is missing.

I have not tried an NVRAM reset yet Josh, would this be worth trying?
Also, I have a SAS adapter and 2 RAID 0 volumes, is this likely to affect the RAID configuration?
Also, the Dell systems management software says that there is no virtualisation.
Could a Windows update have caused this within the OS?

Which RAID controller is it? The RAID configuration is usually stored on the drives and shouldn’t be affected by replacing the board. You can try clearing NVRAM. Windows shouldn’t have affected it not showing in BIOS. Its a SA 6i/R, the one specifically for the PE T105. I will try the boot image, thanks.
