PowerEdge 2050 III memory limited to 600mb

Hi,

We have updated the memory in one of our Powered 2050 III servers from 16GB to 32GB. The open manage application is showing that all of the 32GB is installed and has a green tick next to it, however it is only giving about 600MB to the operating system. We have moved back to 16GB of memory and still have the same issue.

To try and resolve the issue we have made sure all of the firmware is up to date, which it is, tried booting into a different version of Linux, powered off the server fully (removed power cables) but still have the issue.

Open manage isn't reporting any errors, everything has a green tick.

Does anyone have any new suggestions for us to try? Or a log we can check somewhere

Thanks

Shaun

Hi,

This is a screenshot of where it says its limited. I've tried another Linux bistro live DVD (Ubuntu) and it could only see 600MB of memory also.

Hi,

Where are you seeing the memory being limited to 600MB? Can you try booting to our live image? http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/04/drivers/driversdetails?driverId=CWF92
