[PowerEdge M630] - Increase RAID 1

Hello!

I have a PowerEdge M630 blade with a hardware RAID 1. This RAID is managed by a PERC H730 mini controller.

The RAID has two 1.2 TB disks. I have to increase that RAID 1 by replacing both disks with new disks of 1.8 TB capacity.

I need technical information:

-> Is it possible to hot swap the disks in that RAID?
-> When the new disks are installed, can I expand RAID 1 from 1.2 TB to 1.8 TB using iDRAC interface?
-> Can I do it without loss of service or restart the server?

Thank you!!

Hi,

What OS are you running? You can do this with Openmanage Server Administrator. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z1UqvJNhZs4

Hi!

Thanks for your reply. The server is running SUSE 12 SP3 for SAP.

I can acces to server configuration using iDRAC but I don't know how to access by OMSS.

If I use iDRAC, can I manage the RAID and the controller like OMSS?

Thanks

Yes, you can, the screens are laid out differently, but the same functionality.
