Poweredge 1600SC and Drac III

I would like to know if the DRAC III card will work in a Poweredge 1600SC?  I do not mean whether it is supported by Dell to work in the 1600SC. I am asking whether I could practically use it in a 1600SC.

Thanks!

8N289 DRACIII/XT Card(ESM4)

is supported and works in the PE1600, and it will work in the PE1600SC as well.

Having reread the question several times, I fail to understand what is wrong about my answer, this is the only DRAC III card that works in the PE1600SC. Please illuminate what you are wanting.

The question is: Will the DRAC III work in the PE1600SC?  The question is not WHAT works in the PE1600SC.

Thank You,

Vladik

What I posted is a PCI DRAC III card, it is installed in PCI 6 on the PE1600/PE1600SC.

Perhaps you could post a P/N or board description on the DRAC III that you want to know about? or what server you are moving it from would help as well.

From what I understand, there is a DRAC III card and a DRAC III/XT card.  The Drac III card was not designed to work in the PE1600SC, so my question is whether it will still work in a PE1600SC even though it was not designed to work in it?

Thanks

Hello,

Where is the DRAC III/XT listed on your web site?

What is the link?

What is the part number?

How much is it?

I want to purchase this card.

Thanks,

RR

Hi Rocky,

As a spare part you can call in (800-357-3355) and buy the P/N I posted above, for new parts you can call in (800-456-3355) and buy SKU# 313-1840. I could not find it offered on the web.

I am not allowed to quote prices. but if you go to http://configure.us.dell.com/dellstore/config.aspx?c=us&cs=555&l=en&oc=PE650PAD&s=biz

and look at the DRACIII/XT option that will give you an idea of the cost.
