Update iDrac 6,7,8 and Bios via OME

Hello,

We have around 60 Dell servers (PowerEdge R420,430, R620,630 and R720xd.
I have setup Open Manage Essentials and managed to get almost every server into OME except those we have problem with on iDrac and needs a reboot.

My question is can we update iDrac, Lifecycle Controller and Bios via OME server?
And also install shared SSL onto iDrac via OME on all 60 servers in a easy way?

We're using latest version of OME 2.1.0.2635.

Hedloff,

To answer your questions.

You can push the updates in or out of band for the iDrac, Lifecycle Controller, as well as the BIOS using OpenManage Essentials. This link will take you to a guide to assist you with setting up the different type of updates using OME.

Regarding the Shared SSL, there unfortunately no way to install a shared certificate on any web server. As the  names must match between the certificate and the website. So each iDrac must generate a certificate request, that's then given to the root CA and a certificate generated for each iDrac. You can learn more on certificate management here.

Let me know if this helps.
