PowerEdge Crash with blue Screen

Hi,

i have a Dell PowerEdge 1800 running with Windows Server 2003 SP2

Since a few hours, The system Crash and a Blue Screen appear:

Hardware Malfunction

Call your hardware vendor for support
NMI : Parity Check/ Memory Parity Error
The system has halted

i run the test of Memory = PASS

i reboot and just 2 minutes, the system crash again with the same Blue Screen.

Any idea???

Hello KETATA Ramy

NMIs are usually hardware problems. I would test the memory and CPU again. If you have spare memory and CPUs from another server to swap out with then you can try that as well. Most of the time it will be either memory or CPU. It could be other components, but I would start by ruling out the CPU and memory.

If you don't have spare memory then you can take the system down to a single DIMM, and swap around the DIMMs so that you don't have the same DIMM in slot 1.

Thanks

Hi Daniel,

I tried several times to change the locations of the strips and finally i found the defective barette...

I removed this barette..

Now,  the system is stable.

problem solved.
