Windows Server 2008 Poweredge M610 - OM Driver Package not applied using SCCM

Hi,

I'm currently in the process of implementing System Center 2012 Configuration Manager SP1 at a customer site. It is used for deploying Dell PowerEdge Servers using the Dell Deployment Pack v 2.1. Using the DTK 4.3 I created a x64 Dell Boot image which includes all drivers needed for server deployment. I use Dell OM 7.3.0 to generate driver packages for every server model I need (M520, M610 and M600). Deploying Windows Server 2008 R2 and Windows Server 2012 doesn't give any problems.

When I try deploying Windows Server 2008 to a Poweredge M610 machine it seems that the drivers in the OM 7.3.0 (name of the driver package: PEM610-Microsoft Windows 2008 x64 SP2-OM7.3.0) don't get applied properly. When my server boots for the first time into Windows (during the OSD task sequence) there is no network available because the network drivers for the Broadcom device were not installed).

Using an older version of the OM (7.1.0 or 6.5.0) gives me the same result. Manually creating the driver package with just the correct network driver gets the same result.

Are there any known problems with the driver packages for Windows Server 2008 on M610? Or on any other hardware models?

Kind regards,

Bert

To be more accurate it is about the following network driver: Broadcom BCM5709S NetXtremeII GigE (NDIS VBD Client).

When applying other OSes (Server 2008 R2 and Server 2012) it gets applied correctly using the Dell Driver Packages.
