Windows server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1 R610

Hello,

Recently auto update applied Service pack1 to one of our R610 systems (5709c NetExtreme) It is running Hyper-V.

Nightly there is a Microsoft SQL 2008 back up across the wire (1GB flat switched LAN). Prior to this update the backup took

under 2 hours. We are now seeing over 7 hours. They only thing that I am noticing is a what I think are a high level of TCP4 segment retranmissions.

Thanks

Hello mraether

The first thing I would do is uninstall/reinstall the NIC driver using the BCOM driver from our site. Updates have a tendency to change the driver and Broadcom does not work well with the default Windows driver.

There are also known issues with some backup software versions and service pack 1. What software are you using to perform the backup?

Thanks
