AX100DP Hard Drives

What is the SATA standard on the AX100? Is it SATA150 or SATA3.0?

I was thinking about installing some additional drives and saw that Maxtor and Segate now offer 500GB SATA3.0 drives. Am I limited to 250GB max per drive in my SAN?

The array can only support specific drives as far as I know. The flare (software on the array) will only recognize specific firmwares on the drives.

Also, the EMC Clariion range (AX100, FC-series and CX-series) have drives formatted in a 520 byte/secter layout (this is a low-level format option). This is not standard.

So you will have to go thru Dell sales to buy AX100 certified drives.

Thank you for your help... the note about the formatting option is a good thing to know... I was about to credit card 20 extra drives from a retailer.

One other thing is the carriers for the drives. These aren't sold seperately from what I've seen; you'd have to buy an AX-100 harddrive from Dell to get the carrier with it. There isn't all that much to the carriers, but you do need them.
