Moving MD3000i attached MD1000 local to a Server
This might sound like an odd request, but is it possible to retain and recognize a volume on an MD1000 that was created while attached to an MD3000i if directly connected to a server through a perc5or 6e? We have been using an md3000i as a backup based array with 2 attached md1000's. We want to move one of those array local to a backup server but retain the existing data and volume if possible.
My guess is no, but I wasnt sure if I would be able to import the a foreign configuration or not.

Unfortunately, your guess is correct. You cannot directly migrate between an MD1000 connected to an MD3000i to an MD1000 connected to a Perc. A backup and restore would be the best option at this stage...
