NF500 nx3100 multiple NICs

Ok so i currently run a NF500 Powervault as our file server.  I am goign to upgrade to a NX3100 and i have a question.  If both of these devices have multiple NICs in the system why would you need those?  Can you bind them to make a faster throughput or can you connect all of them and it will make it faster for the end user to pull files from?  Thanks.

On both, the NF500 and the NX3100, you can use the multiple NICs for redundancy or If you have the units connected to a storage device like an Equallogic array then you can configure multiple NICs to connect via iSCSI. That way you have faster throughput to your data. Hope that helps.

For the NF500 Here is a link for the system setup and has some screen shots for the Bios for the intagrated NICs.

On the NX3100 here is the link for the iSCSI guide in case you need it.

And last but not least here is the admin guide for the 3100.

Let me know if there is anything else you need.
