PV 220s - cannot creat virtual disk

Hi Guys, We have added a used/second hand PV 220s to our PE 2850 backup server (Win server 2003/SP2), all seems to work fine, no errors or warnings, all green lights.

The 220s does not show during boot process (I had expected to see 'press Ctrl+M' or something similar as you do with the PERC4 RAID on the PE2850).

Regardless I tracked down Array Manager but was unable to create a new virtual drive on the array (BTW, I can see all my array SCSI disks in Windows Disk Manager)

Then I got Open Manage - Storage Manager but again I cannot create a virtual drive, Error message;

The create virtual disk wizard failed to launch This failure may be due to the following reasons: -

No array disks with free space available. -

No enclosures connected to the controller. -

The maximum number of virtual disks that can be created on the controller has been reached. -

Controller is busy. - Controller rescan is in progress.

So what is the issue here, incorrect management tools, faulty 220s, why no Ctrl+M on boot? Someone suggested it is a driver issue? But the 220s shows up in Storage Manager (it is called 'PERC' no other ID?).

Cheers, Bill, Campaign - London.
